On March 7, 2015 he debuted in his first ever feature film (Employee of the Year) written and produced by Synergy Cornerstone and Charles Farmer. Not only did Quincy surprise those that knew him, regarding his ability to act on the big screen. He simply blew those in attendance as well as his co stars and their supporters away with his role as the quirky co-worker known as ‘Marvin’. From his quick witted comments and effortless ability to improv. To his smooth delivery of those tender moments and on point quotes from famous people. He is truly a rising star on film. The feature film is currently premiering in multiple cities around the country; hoping to secure a major distribution deal and end up in theaters as well. Stay tuned and be on the look out for a showing in your area!
After Quincy wrapped in the filming of ‘Employee of the Year’ (July 2014), he was approach regarding playing the lead role in one of this country’s most historic stage plays for over 50 years… ‘A Raisin In The Sun by Lorraine Hansberry’! Quincy doubted himself for a second saying, “I’m no trained theatrical actor.” But Play Director / Acting coach Marlon Hargrave quickly mentioned where his vision was for this version of the play. Not only were they going to obtain the rights to introduce the addendum’s rarely ever seen to many fans of this stage play. But they wanted to utilize a professional comedian in the role of ‘Walter Lee Younger’ originally played by the great Sydney Poitier (Also recently on Broadway by Denzel Washington) to bring out the true moments of comedy that has never been shown in his opinion. That is when a light clicked on for Quincy as he immediately realized the opportunity he had to do something that comedians / actors get knocked for NOT being able to have… yep, that thing called range! Fast forward 6 months to March 14, 2015 at Willet Hall located in Portsmouth, VA. Quincy Carr, the Stand-up comedian, delivered (in front of a crowd of nearly 2,000) an awesome live performance filled with a balanced combination of frustration, comedic moments and tear-jerking emotion. He truly became Walter Lee Younger and was supported greatly by an awesome cast. Just like he does with his stand up comedy, he left it all on the stage for others to anticipate and ask, “Where will he be next?”
